Single Wing Tangent Benders

Medium and Heavy Series

Single Wing Medium Series:
machines are recommended for applications where a variety of lighter gauge products are processed in moderate quantities. This flexible bender can readily handle a number of different sizes of bending and crowning operations. Standard Medium Series Single Wing benders are available for handling three preform material widths, 24-in., 36-in. and 48-in. Tangent bends from 2MT to 3.5-in. radius can be formed and distance between bends may be as short as 6-in. or as long as the material length being processed. After each bend in multi-bend parts, the work is moved forward to the next step. Thus, with adaptation of work extension tables, almost any length of material can be formed with this equipment. Standard operating speed is 500 to 600 machine cycles per hour. And, by using multi- station dies, several bends can be made each time the machine operates.

 Single Wing Heavy Series:
machines are the most versatile of all tangent benders. They handle a wide variety of products in relatively simple, inexpensive tooling and can form curved surfaces between corners as well as perform radius bends. They are most often used where many different products are produced in moderate quantities, rather than where high volume processing is required. This popular type is available in nine standard sizes handling width to 120-in. and radi up to 24-in. Most models are equipped with 5, 10 or 15 horsepower motor. However, several models may be equipped with larger drives increase operating speed or to furnish added power for bending plates and heavy structural shapes. Although Single Wing Tangent benders form only one corner at a time, many narrow sheet metal jobs and most tubes and structural shapes can be formed in multiple station dies so that several bends are made each time the machine operates. Standard heavy series are supplied with solid type wing construction, rather than spring supported roller action slip plate. The solid type wing is more suitable for using adjustable type eccentric pin slip plate controls as it tends to reduce the shearing forces on the eccentric pins from weight of slip plate and rocker die assembly when bender wing is in the up position.
