Welder Construction
The main frame of the welder is of "dry box frame" construction and is designed for easy and convenient attachment of controlled atmosphere (dry
box) chambers. Design principles developed over the years have been ingeniously used to combine in one machine the highly desirable features of:
• Low Inertia
• Lightweight ram.
• Approach Speed and Impact Control of upper electrode.
• Fast Follow-Up by a frictionless rolling-diaphragm air lock to develop welding force.
• No lubrication is required of the moving ram inside the dry box.
• Alignment of welding platens is maintained by hard chromed ram running in closely fitted, self-aligning spherical bearings.
• Deflection
of head is "NIL", less than .0015 @ 1000# load. Heavy side frames and box frame construction make this the sturdiest machine on the market!
• Mounting Flanges are provided for dry box attachment.
• Levelers are provided (EBT welder only) in base for adjusting the machine height.
• Operating Ram Rod is sealed to upper mounting flange by a Neoprene boot.
• Secondary Conductor from transformer, passing
through welder base opening is sealed by compound.
